What’s on – March 16 – 19

Gardeners rejoice, with the soil warming up, the sun shining longer it is time to turn our focus on our patches of green. The Garden Fair Giardina is Switzerland largest garden fair and will take place this weekend in Zurich. More information here.

We have a list of local gardening centres here.

Please Disturb! This is a special event where hotels in Central Switzerland throw open their doors to the public. If you have always wanted to visit one of our iconic hotels then this Sunday you are welcome to go and look around to your heart’s content. Here is a list of all hotels offering to welcome you.

This Friday evening we are in for a treat as the Detroit Soul band Amp Fiddler will be playing at the Südpol. Highly unusually for Switzerland the concert will begin at 1 in the morning  (just like New York babe!!) but doors will open at 23.00. And you can sleep in the next day as it looks like it will be raining cats and dogs.

Now for some real Swiss culture go to the KKL to hear the “pearls of Swiss Folk Music”. The concert is from 17:00 to 19:30 on Saturday more information here.

The Luzerner Theatre took part in a  really cool experiment, they gave 60 students carte blanche and take over the theatre for two weeks and write a play which is called No Future Forever, there are just a couple of shows left, so be sure to go along and see what young Luzerners think of the world today. There will be a show on Sunday March 19 at 20:00  More information here.

Charlie Hartmann is the managing director of the Living in Luzern organisation which focuses on helping international residents connect, grow and thrive in Switzerland.
