Are you a Harry Potter fan and always dreamed of joining a Quidditch Team? Well now you can! And the good news is you won’t have to travel to Hogwarts… ‘Quidditch Luzern‘ are hosting their first open practice session today at Ufschötti in Luzern from 18:00 – 19:30. The training is open for beginners, all genders and best of all it’s for free! So invite your friends and be ready to play some Quidditch!
How about watching a Shakespeare play live from the National Theatre London, namely the Twelfth Night with Tamsin Greig (Episodes, Shaun of the Dead) playing Malvolia and Simon Godwin directing. A real cultural treat is in store! The show is at 20:00 at Swiss Museum of Transport and tickets can be bought here or at the door!
The Honky Tonk Festival returns for 2017! Live music lovers can look forward to a great evening featuring a wide variety of musical genres including Reggae, Ska, Pop, Soul, Blues, Funk, Beat, Salsa, Partymusik, House, Swing, Boogie Woogie, Rock, Folk and much more besides. Advance tickets cost CHF 22.- (excl. charges) and are available online from the Radio Pilatus ticket shop or at the LZ Corner. Tickets will also be available on the day for CHF 25.-

Calling all eco-warriors! Are you sick of all the plastic packaging that your food comes wrapped in and wish there was an ecological alternative? Soon there will be! Opening its doors this Friday is a brand new venture called ‘Unverpackt Luzern’. The concept is simple, you bring your own containers and buy only what you need. The shop is located at Zürichstrasse 44, 6004 Luzern and on Friday from 15:00 – 19:00 they will be hosting an opening apéro! This weekend is your last chance to catch the ‘Fumetto – International Comix Festival’! With 12 main and 40 satellite exhibitions around the city there is plenty to see and do! On Saturday the Hochschule Luzern – Design & Kunst (745, Viscosistadt) will be hosting a workshop from 13:00 – 17:00 called ‘Grassroot comics – your story is our story’ and aims to show how anyone can draw their own experience into a comic. For foodies: on Saturday evening the Lili Centre will be hosting a Seafood Feast! Resident Chef Arthaud and foodie Charlie will be pulling out all the stops (by going to France) and bringing back lots of fresh seafood. The evening will start with a delicious fish soup and then follow with a whole host of seafood goodies including crab, langoustines, shrimps, clams, oyster and whelks!

The ‘Luzerner Tulpenschau’ has just opened this week at the ‘Luzerner Garten AG‘ in Ebikon. The centre is open daily from 10:00 – 18:00 Monday to Fridays and 10:00 – 16:00 Saturday and Sundays and best of all entrance is free! The show is the largest in Central Switzerland with thousands of flowers on display and afterwards you can enjoy a cup of coffee and slice of cake at the ‘Tulip Cafe’. They also have child friendly activities and a BBQ at the weekends.
