The weekend starts early this week with an amazing show at the Verkehrshaus der Schweiz. They will be broadcasting a live performance of ‘Obsession’ starring Jude Law from the Barbican Theatre in London! The production is an adaptation of Luchino Visconti’s 1943 film and is directed by Ivo van Hove. Starting this Friday is the Street Food Festival, Luzern which will be taking place at the Gedecktes Aussenfeld Eiszentrum (Eisfeldstrasse 2, 6005 Luzern). Entrance is free and they will be serving up tasty food from around the world! As well as this there will be live music and a bar serving international drinks. So head down for an evening of music, food, drinks & fun! The stalls will be open from 17:30 – midnight and the event runs until Sunday evening. Also happening this Friday evening, why not head down to the Lili Centre and celebrate the start of the weekend with ‘TGIF’! They will be serving drinks and tasty tapas from 18:00 – 21:00 as well as live music to help you relax and unwind after a busy week!

On Saturday (10:00 – 16:00) why not check out ‘Velofest’ (translation: bike festival) which is being held to celebrate the final completion of the new bicycle and footpath connection between Neubad, Luzern and Mattenhof, Kriens. With more than 100 attractions to choose from bike enthusiasts will be spoilt for choice! Events will include concerts by the Lucerne University of Music, theatre performances, a Velo-Multimediashow, circus & comedy and much more! Visitors will also have the chance to admire and test the latest bikes and e-bikes at the Big Bike Market! And to keep you going there will be street food stalls serving up tasty snacks. This event promises to be great for families with events aimed specifically at children. And lastly, you can bring along your own bike for a free service and tune up! Also happening on Saturday, there is a beer festival taking place in the city! With many new micro breweries opening up and an ever increasing selection of craft beers on offer the festival is the perfect opportunity to discover a new summer favourite! Visitors will be able to sample a wide selection of beers from 11 different local breweries based in Lucerne, Nidwalden and Zug. And best of all the beer will be served in the beautiful surroundings of the Kulturhof Hinter Musegg (Diebold-Schilling-Strasse 13, 6004 Luzern):
