connect, grow & thrive.

In The News – July 14

Finally some good news, the works on the Seebrücke have gone better than planned which means that as of Monday the bridge will be open to traffic as normal again.

The city has had a study done to see what the current parking situation in downtown Lucerne really is like. Astonishingly  there are over 64 000 parking spots in town and over 60% of these are in blue zones meaning you don’t have to pay for them. It seems like the average person parking on a street will only stay for an average of an hour (could be to do with the fact that most spots only allow you to stay for one hour); whilst anyone wishing to stay longer heads for a carpark. On average there are 800 spots available in the carparks except on Saturday afternoon when that goes down to 400 spots available. The city will put together a proposal for optimising the parking in 2018. We wait with bated breath to see what this will be.

In the meantime we have a good post on the various carparks in Luzern.

If you are feeling starstruck, then head over to the KKL where they are filming Germany’s most famous series Tatort until Sunday. You might even get a part as an extra.

If you enjoy cowboy and indian movies and know Winnetou should head to Engelberg this weekend for the theatre premiere of Winnetou, in German, in the village.
