The James Galloway Flute Festival continues this weekend at the Bildungshaus Stella Matutina in Weggis. World famous flutist Sir James Galway conducts the international flute Masterclass and teaches young talents from all over the world! The festival offers flutists of all abilities the chance to participate in a wonderfully supportive environment with the Master and other world renowned artists. Unfortunately registration for classes is now closed but music lovers can still attend with a visitors pass. The event schedule can be found online here.
Also slightly further afield, but worth the trip for those interested in Swiss military history is the chance to join a guided tour through the Old Artillery Fortress in Vitznau. On this tour you will discover the secrets of the Swiss Army hidden in the depths of Mount Rigi! It takes place this Friday evening at 17:00 and costs CHF 15.- for adults and CHF 7.50 for children, tickets are available from the Tourist Information Centre in Vitznau (Bahnhofstrasse 1, 6354 Vitznau). It’s the final night of the Blue Balls Festival 2017! But you can still catch various acts including Benjamin Clementine who will be preforming at the KKL at 20:00 on Saturday evening. Be sure to check online to find out if any tickets are still available.
On Sunday at the Alpwirtschaft Ruodisegg, Seebodenalp you can enjoy a laid back afternoon with live music from 1 – 4pm. This is a great family venue with a bouncy castle and playgroup for children. This typically Swiss alpine restaurant is easily accessible from the Seebodenalp car park, which is a leisurely 30 minute stroll! And best of all the venue has stunning views over the lake!
