The Lucerne Festival, a music event which showcases the stars of the classical world, starts this weekend and runs until Sunday 10th September! For the last 75-plus years the festival has been presenting famous orchestras, legendary conductors and celebrated soloists. Featuring a different theme each year, the programme offers a wonderfully broad spectrum ranging from Mozart to the Modernists, from early music to avant-garde experimentation. Don’t miss the chance to enjoy unforgettable musical offerings far removed from the hustle and bustle of daily life! For more details and to buy tickets online please visit the official website.
Be sure to check out ‘Slide my City‘ which is taking place this Friday and Saturday in Luzern! For this event a 200 meter long water slide will be set up on Studhaldenstrasse! For 2 days only people, not cars, will own the street as they slide down it on inflatable tires! This is a great event for all the family so don’t miss out! For more details and to buy tickets online please visit the official website.
Also part of the Lucerne Festival Soundzz.z.zzz … is an unconventional, multi-layered project combining both fine art and music. The exhibition examines the interface between music and visual art. Intrigued and want to find out more? Be sure to visit the Kunstmuseum (Europaplatz 1, 6005 Luzern) at some point during the duration of the festival. The exhibition is open from Friday 11 Aug until Sunday 10 September. More information is available online here.
