On Friday evening at the Kleintheater, Luzern (Bundesplatz 14, 6003) you can catch comedian / magician Michel Gammenthaler! He will be preforming his latest show for 2018, a mix of comedy, cabaret and magic! The performance starts at 20:00 and tickets cost CHF 39.00. On Friday evening at the Klostermatte (Alte Simplonstrasse 71, 6390) in Engelberg you can enjoy an evening of night skiing followed by a tasty OX burger! The night skiing slope is open until 21:00 and the restaurant OX is open till 22:00 (last orders at 21:30). A night ski pass costs CHF 16.00 for adults, CHF 14.00 Youth (16-19 years old), CHF 12.00 Kids (6-15 years old) and CHF 8.00 Kids (3-5 years old). For more information click here.
This Saturday at the Lili Centre (Alpenquai 40a, 6005) you can join the first instalment of Photography Fundamentals – a 4 part photography workshop – hosted by NiQOR. Today’s cameras put an amazing amount of power in your hands, but all those buttons, dials, and settings can be pretty intimidating. In Photography Fundamentals, photographer Gergely Molnar helps you understand what’s going on inside your camera, explaining photography fundamentals. Saturday also is the unofficial start of the ‘Luzerner Vorfasnachtszeit’ (the run up to Fasnacht!). From 9:30 – 20:00 various Guggenmusik bands will be preforming in the Bahnhofhalle (Bahnhof Luzern 6003). You can find out more details on the official website. Saturday afternoon is the first ever ‘Pilatus Ice Festival’ at the top of the Pilatus! The programme includes a workshop in ice sculpture carving, the film premiere of ‘Pilatus 2132’, live music and a fire show! Admission is free and there is currently a 20% discount on the return train journey from Kriens-Pilatus Kulm. For more information about the event please click here.
Looking for an activity to keep the kids entertained on Saturday evening? Why not enjoy a family friendly night at the Historisches Museum (Pfistergasse 24, 6003) On Saturday from 19:00 – 22:00 the Kinderkino will be showing “The three ??? and the mystery of the ghost island”. The evening also includes games, guided tours and much more and is suitable for kids aged 8 and up. Tickets cost CHF 5.- per child and include a drink and hotdog. Also on Saturday evening, Italian street-punk band Los Fastidios will be preforming at the Musikzentrum Sedel (Sedelhof 2, 6020) in Emmenbrücke. Doors open at 20:00 and the show starts at 21:00. Founded in 1991 in Verona they are considered to be one of the most important anti-fascist street-punk bands in Italy. Their repertoire includes rock n roll, ska, hardcore and punk rock. On Sunday afternoon from 15:00 at the Verkehrshaus (Lidostrasse 5, 6006) is a talk about ‘Das Himmelsjahr 2018’. What will happen in the sky in 2018? Where are the planets and when will they visible? At what time can I see which constellations? The show will include a live commentary (in high German) and would be of interest to any star gazers! You can find out more here. On Sunday evening the Marc Hunziker Trio will be preforming live at the Grand Casino Luzern (Casineum, Haldenstrasse 6, 6000). The trio consists of pianist and composer Marc Hunziker, double bass player Laura Cesar and drummer Jürg Voney. In order to bring out the natural, acoustic sound of their instruments they preform without electric amplification.
