On Friday evening the Rigi Fondue Train will be departing from Goldau at 18:50 for an evening of fondue fun! Whilst the vintage train carriage climbs 1800m above sea level you and your fellow passengers will enjoy a delicious cheese fondue in a unique setting! Another option for Friday evening is a guided snowshoe tour at Fürenalp (6390 Engelberg). The group meets at 18:00 at the cable car station Fuerenalp and the tour lasts approximately 1 hour after which the group will stop for dinner at the Restaurant Fuerenalp before catching the 22:00 cablecar. The evening costs CHF 60 and includes the guided snow shoe tour, aperitif, food and the return cable car ride from Engelberg – Fuerenalp. Those interested in learning more about the history of Luzern can join a guided tour on Saturday morning (9:45 – 11:45). On the tour you will discover hidden alleys, visit town squares teeming with activity and even catch a glimpse of the city’s “crown,” the Musegg Wall. Tickets cost CHF 16.- per person and can be purchased from the Tourist Information Office (Zentralstrasse 5, 6002) at the main train station. The tour is available in English or German. On Sunday evening (20:00) at the Kleintheatre (Bundesplatz 14, 6003) is Faltenrock vol. 7 – a dance event for the over 60’s! So if you are too old for the disco but too young for afternoon tea at the retirement home then this event is for you! They will be playing hits from the sixties and seventies including boogie, twist and rock’n’roll! Tickets cost CHF 10.- and anyone under 60 must be accompanied by someone over!
