On Friday evening Restaurant 1871 at the Grand National Hotel (Haldenstrasse 4, 6006 Luzern) will be hosting Cinédîner, a unique cinema and dining experience! Friday’s film will be ‘Hereinspaziert’ a comedy from French director Phillippe de Chauveron, however, each evening will feature a different film. Be sure to check the online programme here to find out what else they will be showing! The evening will begin with an aperitif from 18:15 – 19:00, followed by a 3 course menu which will be served during intervals in the film! Tickets cost CHF 89.- per person (excluding drinks). And if you can’t make it this weekend don’t worry, the event runs until the 31 March 2018!
Calling all rugby fans! You can watch Ireland vs. Wales this Saturday afternoon on the big screen at the Lili Centre (Alpenquai 40A, 6005 Luzern)! The event is hosted by Rugby 4 Kids in association with Rugby Club Luzern. Kick off is at 14:15 and there will be snacks and drinks on offer as well as a quiz with great prizes! This is a great event for all the family!
On Saturday evening (18:30) at the Kunstmuseum, Luzern (Europaplatz 1, 6005 Luzern) artist Taryn Simon will be there to discuss her latest exhibition “Taryn Simon: Shouting is Under Calling” with curator Fanni Fetzer. The work of Taryn Simon results from rigorous research guided by an interest in systems of categorisation and the precarious nature of survival. The artist works with a variety of medium including photography, text, film, sculpture, and performance to turn our attention to the margins of power, where control, disruption, and the contours of its constructedness become visible. Also on Saturday evening (19:30), Abrasso Concerts presents: ‘A Circus Symphony’ at the KKL, Luzern (Europaplatz 1, 6005). The performance is the fusion of classical music and artistic movement and silhouette art. International award-winning top performers combine their specially choreographed performance with selected symphonic works to create an experience that transcends listening and seeing! On Sunday from 12:00 – 14:00 you can join an ‘Introduction to Ashtanga Yoga Workshop’ at Shaktini Yoga (Grendelstrasse 15, Luzern) led by level 2 qualified teacher Martyna Syguda! The workshop will be an introduction to both the theoretical and the practical aspects of Ashtanga Yoga. It will provide a solid foundation for those who want to start or who already attended some classes but would like to learn more about the method. On Sunday evening, Jazz Club Luzern presents ‘Another Fine Mess’ who will be preforming live at the Grand Casino Luzern (Casineum, Haldenstrasse 6, 6000) from 19:00. The band’s style celebrates modern jazz, namely post-bop, bebop and cool jazz. Their repertoire consists of original compositions as well as compositions by J.J. Johnson, Kenny Dorham, Wayne Shorter and others. Entrance is CHF 30.-
