On Friday you can step aboard the Whiskyschiff (Whisky Ship) for a fun evening of whisky tasting and presentations! With over 40 stalls and 700 different types of whisky from countries including Scotland, Ireland, USA, Canada, Japan and even Switzerland – you will be spoilt for choice! You’ll find the ships firmly anchored at jetty no.1 in the centre of Luzern (opposite the main train station). For more information about this event please visit the official website.
On Saturday morning (10:00 – 12:00) Ashtanga Yoga will be hosting a back-bending workshop at Shaktini Yoga (Grendelstrasse 15, 6004)! Back-bending is an important and often very challenging part of practicing yoga which requires not only flexibility but also emotional readiness to open and to overcome the fear associated with those deep movements! In the workshop you will explore different preparations to help open your chest, hips and the shoulders, which will in turn enable you to explore more advanced poses. Any budding geologists out there will be interested to know that this weekend (10. – 11. March) the Messe in Luzern (Horwerstrasse 87, 6005) will be hosting an event dedicated to minerals and fossils! Highlights will include: 100 exhibitors with minerals and fossils from all over the world, a special show featuring some of the finest minerals from Namibia as well as activities and prizes for kids! Sunday at 11:00 is Standup Philosophy with Roland Neyerlin, Rayk Sprecher and Yves Bossart at the Kunstmuseum, Luzern (Europaplatz 1, 6005). The subject of debate is ‘Utopia’ and whether or not humanity is still in the mood for it! Tickets are CHF 33.00 for adults and there is a discount available for students.
