In case you’ve been wondering what all those yellow posters are about? On Friday 4. May from 17:00 and Saturday 5. May from 15:00 you can join the ‘Beizentour’ which will be taking place at Sinnlicht in Luzern (Industriestrasse 15, 6005). The event is a food exhibition with many of the city’s well known restaurants and hotels taking part including Brasserie Bodu, Krone, Mill’Feuille & the Seehaus! You will be taken on a culinary tour with with each establishment showcasing a different dish… On Friday evening Jolanda Steiner will be telling fairy tales for young & old and there will also be live music from “Maurice” and DJ Tom Style. ‘Entrepreneurs in Switzerland’ is a self-help which meet regularly at the Lili Centre (Alpenquai 40a, 6005 Luzern). It doesn’t matter if you have a job or are searching for a job, changing your career path, or simply thinking about what you would love to do! As a Group you will learn different entrepreneurial mechanisms and discuss various topics that could help you move forward with your chosen career. Their next meeting is this Saturday 5. ‘Paint and Sip’ Carrot meets Peppers: Looking for something creative to do this weekend? Why not enjoy a fun and relaxing paint night at the Neubad (Bireggstrasse 36  6003) in Luzern with Paint Events! The group meet from 18:00 – 20:00 and will be lead by artist Crysia, who will guide you step by step through the painting! No prior painting experience is necessary and they will provide options for all levels. The evening costs CHF 59.- for adults and CHF 49.- for students / AHV / Children and includes all painting materials and a welcome drink. Also happening on Saturday evening the Lili Centre (Alpenquai 40a, 6005 Luzern) will be hosting their next International Evening! To celebrate the start of summer they will be serving up pulled pork sandwiches, a variety of salads and what better to wash it all down with than a nice cold cider? The fridge will be stocked with a range of ciders from the ‘Cider House’. Tickets cost CHF 25.- for members of the Lili Centre, CHF 30.- for non members (including a welcome drink) and CHF 15.- for children aged 12 & under. To sign up please click here (But be quick! On Sunday morning at 10:30 the Dutch Swing College Band will be preforming live at the Grand Casino in Luzern (Casineum, Haldenstrasse 6, 6000). Founded more than 70 years ago they started as an amateur band mainly made up of students! In the 1960’s the band became a professional orchestra and in 1990 Bob Kaper took over as musical director. They are now known as one of the hottest dixie-land bands in Europe! Tickets cost CHF 30.- or CHF 20.- for members of the Jazz Club Luzern.

Every first Sunday of the month Martyna Syguda of Ashtanga Yoga, Luzern teaches a full Primary Series led class. The class is meant rather for students with some experience in Ashtanga Yoga, but everyone is welcome to come. After the class you can join her for a short talk about yoga philosophy (which will last approx 15 minutes). The class takes place this Sunday 6. May from 9:30-11.00 at the Yoga Raum (Dufourstrasse 20A, 6003). It cost 32.- CHF per person or +5.- CHF with any valid AYL pass or +10.- CHF for LiLi Centre members passes. And finally, you can take the whole family to the races on Sunday afternoon at the Luga! The ‘Säulirennen’ (pig racing) takes place daily in the Arena at the following times: 15.30, 15.40, 16.30 and 16.40. Place a bet at the betting office on who you think will be the fastest piggy!
