The June 10th referendum results

The results for Sunday’s referendum are in and the government can breathe a sigh of relief as all of their recommendations were followed.

Lest than 35% of the population turned out to vote, but those who did gave a resounding yes to tighter control on online betting: 72.9%.

The initiative for a new banking system was turned down at an even higher percentage 75.1%

Locally over 72% voted against a new health concept in the canton.

But 58,7% of the canton voted in favour of the new energy programme.

Of note nationally is the fact that the Valais canton voted against hosting the Olympic in 2024.

The next referendum will take place on 23. of September 2018.
