The Science Studio is an initiative about bringing the love and learning of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to primary school aged children.
The Science Studio offers a Junior STEM Club, After-School Young Scientist Club, Holiday STEM Workshops, School STEM Shows, STEM Camps and STEM Family Events & Fairs.
Getting curious children engaged in STEM early, gives them the confidence for critical thinking, inquiry, problem solving and creativity skills, and provides them education to participate in exciting discoveries of this technologically-advanced world. Our inclusive, hands-on approach is unique as we focus on activating natural curiosities, helping children make exciting discoveries through fun, while learning more about the STEM world around them.
We bring the WOW, COOL, and YEAH factor to the facts!
At the Science Studio, we teach the core aspects through ‘make & do’, projects, studies, messy experiments, quizzes and games in an indoor laboratory or outdoors in nature. Children (ages 7 to 12) uncover the dynamic power and potential of STEM subjects through projects covering biology, physics, chemistry, engineering, robotics, experimental design, computer coding, and more.
Denise Glennon is the Founder, Owner and Director of the Science Studio Luzern and she has a passion for STEM communication, a strong work ethic and possesses the winning combination of master expertise and practical experience to teach STEM with a creative and fun flair.
Denise has also achieved a Bachelors in Science (B.Sc.) and a Masters in Education (M.Ed.) and as a qualified Scientist, has over 25 years experience in the Life Sciences industry, namely Pharmaceutical Science, and Renewable Energy (Solar) Engineering. She has Qualified Teacher Status and in recent years has experience with teaching and supporting children in the Preschool, Kindergarten, Primary and Secondary school years.
Recently the Science Studio launched it’s Junior STEM Club, where children will engage in STEM explorations, experiments, projects and discoveries based on an approved international curriculum and syllabus. All our STEMists will have the opportunity to showcase their discoveries in an end of year Science STEM FAIR DAY.
The Junior STEM Club will officially start this coming September 2018, every 3rd Saturday/month from 13:00-17:00 hrs, for children aged 7-12.
A Parent & Child Information/OPEN DAY will be held on Saturday 08 September where the STEM Club will be open for viewing, demonstrations and questions.
If you are interested in booking the Open Day and/or Junior STEM Club, the STEMpass is available here.
