Make the most of the warm summer evenings with a visit to the ‘Coop Open Air Cinema’ at the Aula Alpenquai right on the lake! They will be showing a full programme of Hollywood blockbusters from now until Sunday 19. August with screenings in German, English & French. To view the full programme click here. The Rowing World Cup will be taking place this weekend (13. – 15. July) at the Rotsee. The regatta was established in 1903 and showcases the very best in national and international rowing with more then 900 athletes from 50 nations taking part! Thanks to their sponsors, entrance to the event is free (you only need to buy a ticket if you would like to sit in the Grandstand on Sunday for the final). Looking for somewhere to watch the final of the football World Cup on Sunday? Here are a few suggestions of places to go:
- The Bourbaki (Löwenplatz 10 6004 Luzern) will be showing the game on the big screen. During the match you can order food from their Bistro and they also have a ‘WM-Bierbar’ with beers from around the world to sample!
- Want to watch the final in the comfortable surroundings of a 5-star hotel? The Schweizerhof Hotel will showing the match on their 30m2 screen set up in the courtyard. Their ‘World Cup VIP package’ includes a guaranteed seat, food and two drinks vouchers for CHF 48.- per person.
- The Neubad (Bireggstrasse 36, 6003 Luzern) will be screening the final in a former swimming pool! They have two large screens, a BBQ on the forecourt and cold beers on tap!
- If you want to support a good cause whilst watching the game; the outdoor screen at the Ufschötti sponsors “Am Ball für Strassenkinder”. Entrance is CHF 5.- and all proceeds go to supporting projects for children living on the streets.
