LiLi Centre in January
It may have been a slow start at the LiLi Centre, but on top of all our regular events we have some very special events to look forward to which include our Annual General Meeting, various workshops for kids and adults, our next International Dinner, the launch of a new ‘Spielgruppe’ and lots more! Phew, it’s going to be a busy month! Keep reading to find out more, and please don’t forget to sign up for events….
Starts Jan 8. – French Conversation Class (Level B1)
The class, which is run by Alliance Française of Luzern, offers you the chance to practice your French conversation skills and refresh your knowledge of French in a friendly, non- intimidating environment. These conversation classes will be supervised by a qualified native French teacher, Laurie Quach, who has several years of experience for an authentic lesson.
15. Jan – Job Seekers Group
Are you struggling trying to find work in Switzerland? Are you feeling isolated in your job search? The LiLi Centre has a self-help group for job seekers where you can meet others looking for work, exchange tips, resources and build a network. A moderator from the Job Integration For Foreigners (JIFF) association will be there to help answer questions and give tips and advice.
16. Jan – Coding for Kids
On Wednesday 16. January the Lili Centre will be hosting it’s first ‘Coding for Kids’ workshop! The club aims to inspire and educate kids with coding skills for the 21st century.
18. Jan – EdTech Workshop
After the Zurich EdTech Launch meetup, a core group of brilliant EdTech founders and enthusiasts emerged to take Ed+Tech to 2019.
22. Jan – German conversation (A1/A2)

23. Jan – German Conversation Group (B1 & up)
There are still spaces available for both the morning and evening groups! Sign up now to practice your German in a fun and relaxed environment…
23. Jan – Introduction to Driven Woman
Driven Woman is a network for women with ideas and ambition who want to achieve their goals and dreams, however these are defined. This introductory event will give you a taste of our unique life working concept – where networking meets life coaching, but this time your coaches are other women sharing their journeys.
24. Jan – LiLi Centre AGM
The LiLi Centre will be holding its Annual General Meeting on Thursday 24. January. We will be sharing our achievements from 2018, electing our new board for the year and talking about future projects. All Members are invited to join us for this important event.
25. Jan – Spielgruppe & Baby Sign Language Group
This February the LiLi Centre is planning to launch a new ‘Spielgruppe’, where children can be immersed in the German language in a fun and colourful way, and a ‘Baby Sign Language Group’ led by a qualified teacher. Trial sessions will be held on Friday 25. January for parents interested in finding out more.

26. Jan – International Dinner
What could be better than a cosy board game night on a cold winters evening with good company and delicious food!
Join us on Saturday 26. January for a pot luck dinner and board game evening at the LiLi Centre. Please bring a dish, savoury or dessert, (for 4 – 5 people) to share and your favourite board game…. The bar will be fully stocked with hot & cold drinks.
Starts 28. Jan – JIFF Workshop
JIFF (Job Integration For Foreigners) will be hosting their next workshop at the Lili Centre starting Monday 28. January. The 3-part workshop is all about understanding the job market in Switzerland with lots of helpful advise and tips for job seekers. Sign up today!
29. Jan – International Book Club
How about getting together once a month to discuss novels featuring different countries and cultures by authors from all over the world? We will make our way around the globe, exploring and exchanging our thoughts around a coup of chai tea and Indian delicacies, or a cup of green tea and Chinese moon cakes or perhaps a cup of chocolate and Offleten?
31. Jan – US Taxation of Citizens Residing in Switzerland
On Thursday 31. January we will be hosting a talk about taxation of US Citizens residing in Switzerland.
