Business English Writing

Learn the basic techniques to communicate effectively with everyone from your colleagues, to clients. The training will be focused on writing emails, memos, and letters.

Understanding Financial Statements for Your Small Business

Financial statements provide small business owners with the basic tools for determining how well their operations perform at all times. These statements are concise reports designed to summarise the financial activities for specific periods of time. This allows business owners to evaluate the past, identify any financial bottlenecks and make projections for the future of the business.

This model will focus on understanding an income statement, balance sheets, break even analysis and the main elements of budgeting.
Basic knowledge of excel is necessary.

How to Create Visual Content for Your Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn Posts

The power of visual content in social media marketing is irrefutable.  You will learn how to gain and keep attention leveraging visual content. Remember:  You only have a few seconds to capture someone’s attention.

How to Pitch a Project or Business Idea

You will learn the basics of pitching a project or business idea or yourself if you are applying for job interviews. 

Presenting information clearly and effectively is a key skill to get your message or opinion across and in today’s environment whether you are studying, applying for a job, starting your own business or working in an office you will need to rely on those skills to convey your messages. 

Using storytelling techniques, The Pitch Canvas and your own unique presentation style, you will learn how to present an idea and develop your elevator and sales pitch.

Social Media Marketing and Personal Branding 

Learn about creating content for social media, how to run live social media accounts, planning and implementing integrated campaigns, creating and managing social media advertising campaigns, tracking analytics and using data to improve performance.

The following courses are available upon request.  We need a minimum of four participants to have the class.

Business Model Canvas and the Lean Canvas – Introduction

In this module, you will learn about the lean start-up approach, the minimum viable product, when to pivot, and how to use the lean canvas to develop your business model or organisations’s concept and strategy.  These tools can help you create, assess or develop a new business model.

Who is it for:  business owners-to-be, entrepreneurs wishing to understand the tools to pivot their current business model, intrapreneurs wishing to take an idea forward within their organisations.  No prior knowledge needed.

**This module will be supported by a complimentary  two-hour study group session  where we will fine-tune your own canvas for your project idea or business.

Creating Your Own Marketing Material: A Beginner’s Guide to Canva

Learn with us to use Canva, a free, intuitive, drag-and-drop online graphic design tool, developed to help anyone create their own professional-looking marketing material. 

In addition, will learn the foundation & psychology of colors, about fonts, shapes, images as well as some technical aspects of graphics and printing.

Creating Your Own Website 

Learn the basics to create a fully functional and great looking website using Wix’s innovative and up-to-date drag & drop features which are code-free and easy to use.

Intermediate Excel   

This intermediate level module will cover multiple worksheets and workbooks.  You will learn to combine data, create effective spreadsheets, manage datasets, perform calculations across multiple sources and how to use the toolbox with handy shortcuts. 

This module requires a good understanding of basic Excel.  It is ideal for anyone who works with Excel on a semi-regular or daily basis, for self-taught learners who want to fill gaps in their knowledge and for anyone wanting to consolidate their foundational knowledge of Excel.

Introduction to Project Management for Non Profits and Start Ups

Proper planning is key to the success of every start-up and to managing projects within non-profits, especially when working in very small teams and with limited resources.  The main objective of this course is to help start-up owners and future project managers understand how to use project management tools to achieve their business and organisation’s objectives. You will learn how to set up a project with a project charter, the key aspects of a project plan, essential cost management tools, and how to deal with key partners and stakeholders.

You’ll also learn to answer some key questions upfront to help you meet project objectives: 

  • What will this project accomplish?
  • Why is this project important?
  • Who benefits from this project?
  • How will we plan for successful outcomes? 
  • Who is it for? Working professionals, aspiring project managers in non-profits, small business owners.

Website and SEO Essentials: Strategies for Building and Maintaining a Digital Presence

Having a great looking website doesn’t guarantee that a business will enjoy marketing success. In this module you will learn the essentials to begin building your own website, or at least be able to communicate effectively with a web designer to build a site that accomplishes your business goals. 

You will also learn the basics of Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and Google Analytics by covering topics such as what search rankings are and how they work, local SEO vs. non-local SEO, how to optimise your website pages for search engines like Google and Bing among other things.

For 6 years my work role is to implement the creative vision across a broad range of digital projects. I support teams to ensure that the portfolio, vision of the brand, tasks of the projects are planned and managed effectively. I collaborate with sales, creative and marketing teams, internal and external clients to translate their “messages”, “visions” and needs into successful storytelling. Living in Luzern is my key to new culture, media, and communication - I am creating my own story in Switzerland the way I know best - storytelling and sharing my own experience.
