Happy Spring! Yes, today is the first day of spring, enjoy the glorious weather for the coming days.

Starting monday and until Sunday April 18th the Zentralbahn line between Lucerne and Stanstadt is at a complete halt for refurbishement purposes. Replacement buses will be put into place. This means that the trip between Lucerne and Stans will now take 33 minutes instead of the usual 13, and 39 minutes between Lucerne and Sarnen.

The replacement buses will run every 15 minutes for Hergiswil and according to regular times for Stans, Sarnen, Interlaken and Engelberg.

Expect another 2 week complete stop in November.

The tropenhaus in Wolhusen could be yours for one symbolic franc. That is what Coop is prepared to sell it for as it finds running the Tropenhaus is no longer financially viable. You will, however, have to commit to the upkeep which is in the range of CHF 1.5 million. More details here.

Around 1500 joined in the climate change demonstration on Friday, mostly students in solidarity with the millions of students who protested worldwide. Now the SP is calling on the town to do more to help preserve the environment by having more charging stations for e-cars. Currently Lucerne is last compared to other cities in the country with one electric charger for every 4000 inhabitants (compared to 1 for every 3000 in St Gallen). One small step…
